Soccer Mom

Ok so Suri isn't playing sports just yet but rest assured when she does we are prepared. You see Asif and I have purchased our first minivan. Yes that is right, we are the proud owners of a 2006 Toyota Sienna XLE. I had cold sweats when purchasing this because I didn't feel like I should be 27 driving a minivan but Asif being the salesperson that he is convinced me otherwise. It is practical for the long 5 hour trips back home. Addison and Wrigley have their own rows each and don't fret there is still plenty of room for golf clubs, bikes, strollers and oh yeah I almost forgot SURI! All in all we did this for her. She will love growing up in a minivan just like we all did. Who could forget the captains chairs that everyone would race to get, the curtains in the back windows, the wood paneling need I say more and finally all the crevices for the McDonald's french fries to hide. So yes Asif and I have entered yet another level of parenthood in style.

Corn Fest

"It takes two baby" -On our way home from a long day at Corn Fest
Wishing she was 4 ft 9inches tall so she could ride the rides.

Suri also experienced her first carnival "Look at the pretty lights" she says.
This was Suri's first experience with "Corn Fest" and she was amazed that there was salt shakers hanging from the trees so one can properly eat their corn.

Happy 2 Month Birthday

Suri Bird, Peanut, Miss Suri, Baby Girl...You may have many names but Suri Elizabeth your father and I's favorite nickname for you is "the love of our life". This past month has been very interesting and came with many milestones. The first one was that you visited Central Illinois for the first time and we all survived the 5 hour car ride there and back. Then because you did so well in the car we decided to take you to Iowa for a 6 hour car ride and you did excellent. Who knows maybe next Hawaii? You also have learned to do many things like smile, coo, track objects with your favorite being your caterpillar windchime on your car seat, grasp a rattle, lift your head and turn it from side to side, and are now sleeping through the night. This last one is the highlight of the month for us. About 7 weeks your father and I decided you were a big enough girl to go from 4 oz of formula to 6 oz and to sleep in your own room which we worked so hard on. So on Sunday August 9th you went to bed with a very full tummy at 10:30 and we were shocked when 5:30 rolled around and you were just waking up. Your father and I were so proud of you. This past weekend you went to your first birthday party for your 3 year old neighbor Sydney who absolutely loves you and checks in on you daily. Then you had your most traumatic day of you life on Monday August 17th....... you had your 2 month shots! This definitely traumatized both of us. I hated watching you go from happy joyful baby to a silent, purple faced then wailing baby in less than a second. The good news is that it was over in less than a minute and the bad news is we have to go back for the next round in a couple months. Also good news is that you are growing properly weighing in at 11 lbs. 15 oz (80th percentile), 22.25 inches long (only in the 50th percentile but we still have hopes that you'll be tall like your daddy). So Suri Bird, Peanut, Miss Suri, Baby Girl and the love of our life keep growing, keep changing, and keep filling our life with joy. I love you so.

Mommy

Fed up

Wrigley "Ok my life was great. I was an only child and even an only grandchild for quite some time. Then I had to share my humans with Addison and that was okay because I was still at least Grandpas favorite but now, now HE even holds her. I will show all of them that they can't ignore Mr. Wriggles."

Happy Friday

Suri at 6 weeks was learning how to smile and that fleeting smile makes everything worth while.
