Mom slipped up this month and so Happy 7.5 month birthday. This just shows you that we are all human and it is never to late to celebrate a birthday.
The beginning of your 6th month of life was a time of celebration because you had successfully came through your surgery like a champ and then right around the corner was Christmas. This year your father and I decided to stay at home in Sun Prairie instead of travel since you were just a few weeks out of surgery and I must say it was a wonderful way to spend our First Christmas with you. But don't worry you were able to still see your family by us using our very thoughtful gift from Aunt Karen and Uncle Max-skype. We skyped throughout the afternoon so everyone could see your smiling face and hear your coo's. Later on in the month it became a little harder to skype because you are constantly moving but at Christmas it was perfect. Santa must have heard you were a good girl because you were blessed with mounds of presents including a music table, a busy bee and your Uncle Wyatt spoiled you with a pink rocking horse that talks! What a fun first Christmas.
Then on New Year's you decided to go to bed early when company came over but around midnight decided to ring it in with everyone until about 2 am. That next morning you were up with the sun as happy as can. Needless to say Dad and I napped with you later.
So that next weekend you learned a few new things: how to crawl (big milestone), feeding yourself crackers and your favorite puffs, and then finally how to play Bunco with mommy and her friends. Yes we hosted the first neighborhood Bunco at 7 pm and I figured you would go down around your usual bedtime, 8, but no you continued to play with everyone until they were gone at 11 and then you crashed hard. You were such a wonderful little hostesses I think you get that from your dad.
Finally towards the end of your 6th month you learned how to pull yourself to stand and now you can successfully walk around the ottoman. With this latest feat conquered your father and I realize that you are hitting milestones early so you are advanced but then we also realized something even more important that you are truly growing up right before our eyes. Soon you will not be our little baby anymore but a toddler.
So Suri Bird, on this 7.5 month birthday if I can wish for one thing it would be for you to not grow up so fast because soon I know you won't need to crawl to my feet and pat them to be picked up or want to be held to go to sleep and baby girl those are the moments that I cherish.
Here's to a wonderful 2010 baby bird.
Love,
Mom
